Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TFCBT)
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is evidence-based counselling that aims at addressing the needs of adults with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.
Counselling offers you a place and time aside from everyday life to explore aspects of your life which you are finding troubling or challenging. It is the opportunity to talk with a professional in confidence about any issues that cause you concern.
Psycho-educational courses (available for groups up to 8 people and 1-2-1 coaching)
Our courses provide education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services, such as people diagnosed with mental health conditions and their family members.
Introduction to Mindfulness (available for groups up to 8 people and 1-2-1 coaching)
Mindfulness techniques help you to reconnect with your body, your mind and your environment. They teach you to focus on the present moment rather than being concerned with the past or worrying about the future. Mindfulness is often regarded as a fundamental skill within mental health recovery.
Mental Health Recovery Coaching and Training (1-2-1)
Coaching for Mental Health Recovery is a new way of approaching the treatment of mental ill health. We work from the assumption that every person, regardless of whether they have mental health problems or not, has hidden strengths and abilities that can be drawn out and utilised. Walnut Tree Health and Wellbeing can help to bring about positive change, working with you and developing your Recovery Plan.
Performance Coaching (1-2-1)
Performance coaching is an effective development tool that is designed to uncover what motivates individuals, identify what barriers exist and help them set goals for the future. Coaching can help to overcome obstacles that have been holding you back. Although a stand alone service, this is a perfect adjunct to those who are further along with their Recovery Plan.
Anger Management (1-2-1)
By recognising and accepting anger problems, you can start to understand how to use anger in a safe and healthy way. During anger management training, you’ll learn how to pinpoint your frustrations early on, so they can be resolved in a way that allows you to express your needs, while remaining calm and in control
Substance Misuse (1-2-1)
We provide a confidential support and practical advice to people who are concerned about their drinking levels or who are misusing substances (including prescription medicines); or to those affected by someone else’s use.
It has been well documented that a companion dog can offer positive physical and mental health benefits. If you are interested in rescuing a dog from a shelter, our in-house canine behaviourist will work with you to get the very best out of the relationship – right from the start.
